This was my first job designing a podcast / app icon, you can read about how it all came about here: Hold The Backpage icon development blog post. Hold The Backpage is the Podcast for Back Page Football, a football blog that was founded and launched in the summer of 2009 to provide a variance of football articles from a number of different people, giving people from around the world a chace to write about football. You can see the designs below.
Â
[UPDATE] Back Page Football have recently undergone a redesign and rebranding launching a fresh, and much improved logo, so to coincide with the new look the podcast icon design has also been updated, the new app icon will be appearing in the Apple Store from May 2011. [UPDATE]

A T-shirt design for a 50th Birthday party that took place in July. The design was for one of the staff members of HMG Paints, and was worn by the staff when they were out on the 50th Birthday Boozey Do and was intended to be a fun joke at Wooleys birthday who they were celebrating. Wooley is know around HMG Paints as a cap wearing miserable get with heart of gold up for a laugh, who likes his beer, thus the idea of creating a beer can mocking his personalty traits seemed the logical idea. The can design was based on a Carlsberg Special Brew can with the details modified. The T-shirts went down a storm and as a result I was asked to work on some designs for landlords of 2 of the pubs the T-shirt was worn in. The T-shirt designs are certainly the best bit of self promotion I have achieved and also received lots of positive comments.
The T-shirts were designed entirely in Adobe Photoshop then sent to print at L & J Print in Macclesfield

In September Manchester artist Max Hague held a residency at HMG Paints, prior to his exhibition at the City Inn, Manchester, throughout his time I followed him around documenting his time at HMG. The image is one taken on a digital camera which I then applied a HDR effect to using Photoshop.   Edited image with HDR effect

After the tragic passing of Everton legend Brian Labone I was asked to create a signature and wallpaper by a few members of the Everton FC forum Bluekipper.com. I was then also asked to create more for the main website for users to download. The wallpapers were also used in a mini tribute handout that was created by an Everton fans group Signature:
