The society meets during the football season, August to May inclusive and are members of The Referees' Association of England & and are affiliated to Stockport & District and Cheshire County Football Associations.

The Stockport Referee Society have been meeting once a month to help all referees’ in Stockport & the surrounding area since 1947.

They currently have 70 members, Vice Presidents & Life Members from all standards of refereeing, ranging in age from 14 to 85 years old. Referees who officiate in local youth leagues on a park pitch, to a FA Premier League Official.
