On to the main event, Jenson Button gave the thousands a great show, even though he couldn't get up to full speed the power and noise of the car flying down Deansgate was an amazing spectacle and one I'm very glad I attended, everyone was truly blown away by the noise and power of the car as it sped past and being able to get that close to a Formula one car was something I'll never forget and sure those in attendance of all ages were equally impressed.

Jenson entertained the crowds with trips around the city which started on Deansgate and took him round to the town hall, where the massive crowds gathered at the fan zone got their glimpse of the MP4-23, before heading back onto Deansgate and giving the fans another awesome glimpse of the power the car can put out and also performing some donuts for the rain soaked crowd as he got to Quay St, he must have fancied a kebab at Topkapi Palace.

Then he came back out and did it all over again, as many were walking home the tannoy announced that he wanted to do more.  Everyone scurried to get a spot at the barrier and we were lucky enough to get to the front, giving us a great view of the MP4-23 flying up Deansgate for the second run and getting a good view of him waving to fans afterwards.

All in all it was a fantastic day and I'm sure there is now a lot more Formula One and especially lots more Jenson Button fans in Manchester now.
